A Place of Great Beauty and Inspiration
‘ … the Dordogne will live on just as dreams live on and nourish the souls of men.’ — Henry Miller
We encounter in the Dordogne its most illustrious literary figures: Michel de Montaigne, Saint-Exupery, Talleyrand and Arnaut Daniel. Henry Miller, Josephine Baker, William Boyd and Martin Walker also spent time in the Dordogne.
Bardouly is a reader’s paradise. Our library contains rare first editions by French and English authors and over 1000 volumes of classic and modern fiction, biography, history, and literary criticism.
We are delighted to host our first writing retreat in May 2018.
Please contact us to discuss how we can help you design and manage a writing workshop at the property.
