The Yoga Diet: Keeping energised while staying at home

Photo by Jeanine T Abraham @visAbleblackwoman Productions So chuffed to have had this article published in SF yoga magazine in April during the midst of the lock down.  We are committed to serving healthy and delicious farm to table meals on retreat in Southwest France.  Hope you enjoy and would be pleased to hear your thoughts! Unprecedented, uncertainty and uneasiness, 3 powerful adjectives that go some way to summing up Covid 19’s effect on our daily lives. Right now humankind is being challenged in a multitude of new and unorthodox ways. So what you can do to help maintain your energy levels, improve your state of mind and ultimately feel good? The solution…The Yogic Diet. Beautiful Bergerac

Just a stone’s throw from Bardouly, our retreat centre in Southwest France, Bergerac has been haloed recently with a UNESCO World Heritage classification and labelled a City of Art and History. Situated on the banks of the Dordogne River, the 1000 year old city is amazingly preserved and has a long and storied history. Our perfect day in Bergerac? First stop at the local open market with all manner of produce, cheese, and crafts on offer. Take a tour through the ‘old town’ and marvel and the architecture (and perhaps a stop or two at some of the antique shops). Leisurely luncheon al fresco at L’Imparfait. Next stop the Musee de la Ville, built on the ruins of an ancient cloister and housing artifacts of the city’s history. A perfect end to the day is a sunset cruise on a traditional ‘gabarre’ down the Dordogne River. One of many wonderful days’ out on your holiday in France. Photo by @declic_et_decolle

Kind Words

We are so grateful to have such wonderful hosts like Marlee and her guests and look forward to welcoming them back. Facilitating a weeklong women’s retreat at Chateau de Bardouly was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. The Chateau provides a bright and beautiful space, in which every detail feels intentional, warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, our group felt nurtured, appreciated, and taken care of. With stunning facilities, delicious food, rich history, spacious land, and incredibly kind staff, we were all able to truly relax and let go. Complementary to the empowering inner work we were doing, it was easy to feel like royalty while roaming these luxurious grounds. Lisa was incredibly helpful and attentive and never did we, as facilitators, feel alone in the planning process. I highly recommend running a retreat at this fairy-tale like Chateau in this charming part of France.
